Great product

I love this machine. It’s not too big and complicated like the Total Gym which I previously ordered and returned. Pilates Power Gym takes up much less space and is easy to move. The instructional DVD’s are great too. If I had to come up with one negative (for me anyway) it would be that it has to be stored flat. I was hoping I could stand it up and roll it into the closet when not in use, but the manual advises not to do that. Other than that, it is a great machine!

Good enough for my wife.

Here’s the scoop. I bought this for my wife. She uses it. She loves it. She’s happy. I’m happy. Not for dudes. End of review.

It’s for Short People

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

My wife is 5’6″ tall and mostly liked this equipment until it came time to lay down on her back with feet on the board–it is at least 6″ too short and her toes initially got tangled into the cords. She’s returning it for that reason.

Fun, Cheap, and Just What I Wanted

I read all the reviews prior to buying the Power Gym and decided to go ahead and buy it. For $279 (no shipping, no tax), why the heck not? It’s much better than spending $3,000 on a similar machine that is not portable and takes up far more room.

My fiance and I have both worked out on this machine several times and really like it. There’s only 1 real drawback and it relates to not being able to do a few exercises, but that’s not a big deal. The DVDs it comes with a great start, and even as an experienced exerciser, I’m sore from it! It’s great.

I noticed a few reviews where people were concerned with height, and I think that indeed may be an issue, as with any reformer. I’m 5’7″ and my fiance is 5’9″ and we’re thin people, and the machine has worked out for us beautifully. However, if you were 6′, I think you may not get the full range of motion you would desire.

Overall, very lightweight, easy to move, easy to set-up, seems decently well-made (though we’re gentle with it, just in case), and certainly VERY fun to use.

Great Product

The Pilates Power Gym was a wonderful find. Because of permanent injuries following an accident a few years ago I can’t do a lot of walking nor can I easily get up and down to do Pilates on the floor. This product is just high enough off the floor that I can easily get on and off it and change positions. It is well-made and being fully assembled is one of the selling points for me. I recommend this Reformer. It is a little heavy for me to move around right now, but I think the strength training exercises you can do with it will resolve that problem soon.
