To small for my head and felt cramped and I am a average size. Just want to save someone else the headache because that is what you will get with this machine.
The Pilates Power Gym is perfect for me! I use it for 30 minutes, 5 times a week and am seeing great results! My size 8 jeans are too big and can now fit into the size 6′s that were too tight for the last two years. The DVD’s have great 30 minute workouts that are awesome. I am completely satisfied with the gym!
So far, I am very pleased with my purchase. My hardest task was getting someone to bring it upstairs to my second floor exercise room. I do want to remind people purchasing the Pilates machine to purchase an equipment pad to put under the machine, especially if you are putting it on carpet.
As others have written, the machine is relatively compact and can be moved around fairly easily for the average person, though it is somewhat challenging for me (a 5′ 110lb 61 yr old). Once I have used the machine for a longer period, I will probably have more strength and muscle power to move it with ease.
I bought this to replace my Total Gym and it’s very effective for toning.
This is the perfect size for someone who is small statured. Very easy to use and came almost fully assembled. While my Total Gym is slightly better for toning the arms, this machine is a good bargain for the price and I love how compact it is.
I’m 5’7″ and it works great for me! It doesn’t feel like it works my core as much as the pilates DVD that I have where you just use a mat on the floor but I like this equipment for other reasons. It works your muscles but it also is very relaxing for me.
I have had issues with severe tension headaches for about 9 years now, ever since I severely sprained my neck. The initial injury has long since healed, but it has left behind major muscle tension problems I’ve tried chiropractic therapy, physical therapy, stretching, heat packs, ice packs, you name it I’ve probably tried it. Everything helps for a time but the underlying problem – the muscles tensing up really bad – has never gone away. Finally I tried pilates which has helped a lot but can be a little tough on the neck sometimes. Since there is a head rest on this equipment, I am able to do the exercises which help relieve the tension without having to worry about my neck. I frequently do the pilates exercises that are in the manual that came with it shortly before I go to bed. I fall asleep faster (since I’m not in as much pain), sleep better, wake up in a lot less pain than normal and have significantly fewer headaches. Instead of 2 or 3 a week, it’s now down to one a week at the most.
Item arrived on time. Setup was quick. Unit is compact and may be too small for some users however we wanted something that would not take up a great deal of space. Videos are helpful and the unit works well. Could feel the effects in the first week. Hghly reccommend if looking for a good muscle toning piece of equipment.Pilates Power Gym
i have worked out for years with several pieces of equipment in my home. i wanted to add something especially designed for lower body workouts without spending a fortune. this machine is awesome. i would recommend it 100%. it is made well. the dvd is simple and it is the complement to the other pieces of equipment i was looking for. if you are over 6 feet tall, this machine may not be large enough. being 5 feet tall, i find it just fine. love the lower body workout, it gets right to the “point” and i can see a change already (about 6 weeks of use). well worth the money. 61 years old and loving my power gym.
I love this machine. It’s not too big and complicated like the Total Gym which I previously ordered and returned. Pilates Power Gym takes up much less space and is easy to move. The instructional DVD’s are great too. If I had to come up with one negative (for me anyway) it would be that it has to be stored flat. I was hoping I could stand it up and roll it into the closet when not in use, but the manual advises not to do that. Other than that, it is a great machine!
Here’s the scoop. I bought this for my wife. She uses it. She loves it. She’s happy. I’m happy. Not for dudes. End of review.
My wife is 5’6″ tall and mostly liked this equipment until it came time to lay down on her back with feet on the board–it is at least 6″ too short and her toes initially got tangled into the cords. She’s returning it for that reason.
